The Antwerp Symphony Orchestra is a Belgian symphony orchestra based in Antwerp, with its principal concert venue as the Queen Elisabeth Hall.

PHORA — philharmonic orchestra antwerp

As an abbreviation, the name actually consists of three parts: Ph + Or + A. We use this three-part as a starting point to bring rhythm within our visual communication. The logo combines classical contemporaryity with a visual rhythm that communicates the dynamics and innovation of the Antwerp Philharmonic Orchestra.

Unfortunately as it goes in pitches, another design route by another agency was chosen, despite the fact that my design received the highest score in creativity and design quality.

A dynamic visual system

Based on the diversity between the different pieces of music brought by Phora, but also by the different accents that ensure that no two performances are the same, I've created a system that radiates this diversity and versatility.

Each piece has its own playing field, determined by various factors - orchestra, composition, drama, score, conductor, ..... A visual system that permits endless variations and at the same time remains highly recognizable.
